Tales from the Lounge

Darren & I are having a combined Ms Browns Lounge show in Brisbane – Dec 1 – Ms Browns Lounge ‘Tales From The Lounge’ at Analogue Gallery – individual and collaborative prints and paper works from our shared practice…one night only!

‘Tales from the Lounge’ is an exhibition by the printmaking duo of Darren Bryant and Joanna Kambourian aka Ms Browns Lounge.

Darren is Associate Lecturer in Printmaking at Southern Cross University and Joanna manages the Lismore Art Space studios in the Northern Rivers of NSW, also home to the recently launched Northern Rivers chapter of Work-Shop Australia.

Passionate artists, printmakers and creative couple, their lives are ruled by one very bossy dog on wheels and lots of heavy old school print equipment.

In this show, they have curated a selection of small prints made using a range of printmaking techniques as well as 3D paper forms that form a sense of relatedness between their styles and convey a sense of play and love for print that is the foundation of their work.

Folded and woven patterns hang alongside curious characters and appropriated archival and vintage images that describe a shared love of the absurd, a celebration of difference, as well as an obvious fascination for the mechanics of print, pattern, design and typography.
