Transcultural Imaginations

Some recent works of mine (Jo!) were featured in this brand new Sydney Uni print/online publication – ‘Transcultural Imaginations.’

The works featured are a part of a recent series of digital prints using archival images from online and also my own family archives.

It’s an honour to be amongst these pages with others that I admire. The publication addresses issues that my work attempts to give a voice to, and gives me courage to explore these topics further (inspiring!)

“This magazine aims to showcase various genres of social commentary that address the dynamic interplay between cultural heritage, political activism and marginalised social experiences in Sydney. The publication aspires to raise questions and debates about the diverse forms of transnational identities and interactions which generate transcultural communities and addresses the challenges of marginalization and stigmatization in Australia and beyond.”

Thanks so much to Omid Tofighian for the opportunity and congrats to everyone involved!
